Our Story

Sophie, founder of Health at Home, training a client in a park

I started Health at Home having worked in the fitness industry since 2016. My passion is to help people find peace in their body, feel healthy, energised, and confident.

I see the profound impact physical activity has on people's overall quality of life and I want fitness to be something that everyone enjoys and benefits from.

Many of us are missing out on the huge benefits of taking part in physical activity, and instead normalising living with pain and being unable to easily carry out simple activities of daily life such as getting up from the floor with ease

I typically help Personal Training clients with goals such as weight loss, increased strength and fitness, improved mobility, and overcoming health conditions. Ultimately the goals are all underpinned by a want to feel good and live a long healthy life.

I build strong relationships with my clients and we work closely together to ensure they continually work towards improving their health, however that looks to them.

I started Sports Massage Therapy as many of my clients had pre-existing injuries or pain which we were having to work around and I knew Sports Massage Therapy would support the pain management and relief.

However, sports Massage isn't just for those who are active, but can help relieve general aches and pains of normal life. Sports Massage Therapy can help anyone experiencing pain, discomfort or general tension.

My Previous Work

I started out in health and fitness as a Fitness Instructor in a small studio gym. I went onto managing a university gym in London and took pride in managing their mental health and exercise programme.

Since being self employed the direction my service has naturally taken has been supporting those with special requirements, needing extra support that is difficult to get from a class, gym or training alone. I feel these clients have the most to gain and some of the biggest barriers. I'm happy to help if you have health conditions, injuries, you are in a vulnerable populations such as elderly or youth, have a specific fitness goals, have a busy work schedule, and if you have tried to lose weight again and again with no sustainable success.

My Life

I am so grateful that I enjoyed sport as a child as it has got me through some of the hardest times in my life and it continues to be my main outlet to keep my mental health in check.

I enjoy running, cycling, swimming, triathlons, climbing, hiking, camping and the great outdoors in general! Whilst I see huge benefits from being outside I also see the real value of training at home, as I also train at home myself. I am a mum and work full time so I find it much easier to fit into my day, and hopefully inspire my son while I'm at it.

Life isn't meant to be easy, but what we can do is equip ourselves to feel our own strength and use physical activity as an outlet so that we can handle life's challenges.
